poor Saya -.-
So, Saya, one of the Japanese exchange students I tutor, seemed pretty troubled during our tutoring session today, so I asked her what was going on...

Apparently she's in a relationship with an American guy here on campus, whom all the exchange students has dubbed "The Asian Killer" (but she's the only Asian girl he's dated)... and now, a lot of the exchange students are gossiping about her, and laughing at her a lot for dating the supposed "Asian Killer." She's so upset by the whole situation, that she wants to go home as soon as possible (although she has to stick it out for this last month of school).

She said she wished she could be all genki like me (XD), but I told her that since she only has a month left with these people, she should say what she wanted. She nearly collapsed in the middle of the parking lot laughing when I instructed her to puff out her chest and shout FUZAKEN DA YO! at the next person that gossiped about her XD. And then she wanted me to teach her to say something really awful in English, so I taught her how to say FUCK YOU!

Yes, I am a horrible English tutor... but we were out of the tutoring building when we were talking about all this, so I think it's okay XD. I just hope she feels better now... We have a lot in common (we mooned over the new Plastic Tree single and PV for about 10 minutes before tutoring started XD), so I hate to see her so down -.-.

Oh well, the world's evil sometimes. MAN UP, EVERYONE! *shows her guns*

fail + fail + win
I managed to create an essay for my Advanced Essay class-- BEFORE the morning it was due! Success!

In a non-successful manner, though, I wrote my final presentation for my tutoring class 45 minutes before class started ^^;;;. I got it done, and got full points on it, so it was a success after all, I suppose ^^;. YAY, NO MORE TUTORING CLASS NOW (yay for half-semester classes XD)!

Now off to bed... I still have tutoring to wake up for, even though the tutoring class is over ^^. Bring it on, students!

*fail*
Let's see... I'm fairly accomplished today.

I turned in my assignment for Creative Writing and was active in the workshopping discussion.
I put in my two-week notice of resignation at work.
I got a first draft of an essay written up for my Advanced Essay class.
I FELL ON MY ASS.

Yeah, seriously, I almost killed myself on the ice this morning. Not a great thing ^^;.

When walking on a sidewalk near the dormitories while talking to my dad on my cell phone, I stepped on a curb and suddenly my legs went flying out from under me >.>;. Some girl was passing right by me when it happened, and she's all "OHMYGODAREYOUOKAAAAAAAAY?!?!?!" It was fairly amusing XD;. I sat there for a moment, told my dad (who was still connected on my cell phone) to wait a second, and stood up. After taking a deep breath, I told the girl I was okay, and walked on to class whilst resuming my phone conversation with my dad XD;.

Of course, I thought this was a fairly funny incident, so when the secretary at the Learning Center asked me why my jeans were soaked (damn melty ice), I told her about how I fell. She cried out "Oh no!" and then immediately picked up the phone and called campus security o.O;;;. So security came down to the Learning Center, and I had to do a formal report on the how/where of my fall, plus my assessment of if I was okay or not. I was completely mortified that I had to give security a report on my clumsiness, so I just decided screw-it, and I gave them a dramatic reinterpretation of the event, since that seemed possibly amusing ^o^. And it was, as I made the security guards laugh in disbelief XD;.

Anyway, hopefully I won't wake up and not be able to walk or something horrible like that ^^;;;. I'm going to class anyway! *has her assignments done*

----------------

Two of the Japanese exchange students, Sayaka and Chika came over to our dorm to watch some movies. It turns out Sayaka is going to be one of my new students I'll be tutoring at the Learning Center, so I'm excited about that ^_^. The sessions with Aya and Mako are always entertaining, so I'm sure this will be too.

First bout of tutoring...
I... very well may give myself an ulcer ^^;. *worryworryworries*

Today I had 2 hours of tutoring work... one was a "drop-in" session at 9-10am, where I basically just do random work around the office, while I wait for a student who needs English tutoring to possibly come in. Then at 1-2pm, I had my first tutoring session with Aya and Mako. I had no idea what to fill their session time with-- I worried over it for several hours, actually ^^;. All I could come up with was editing their papers that are due on Friday, but Dr. Brown told me tutors are not really supposed to edit papers... so I helped them to edit their papers anyway XD;. Tutors cannot mark student papers, but I was all pointing at their papers, and saying "Well, why don't we reword/add this/etc here..." My winging-it attempt at tutoring didn't not coincide with the Learning Center's tutoring rules at all >.>;;;. I want to be traaaaaa~ined, I have no idea what I'm doooo~ing >.>;;;;;;... *worries and dies*

Thankfully, there's a tutor-certification class that I'm attending tomorrow (and still pondering on whether or not I'll be actually enrolling in it). That's my training, apparently, so I'm psyched to get a little direction on what I'm supposed to be leading the student to do during a tutoring session ^_^. Maybe I can worry a little less once I actually understand HOW they want us to tutor. Because I have no clue at the moment. *worries some more*

Also, I got tied up with some work for my boss at my 9-10am drop-in this morning, and was about 1 1/2 minutes late to my Creative Writing: Fiction class. Omg, I thought my teacher was going to eat me ;_;. *was terrified* That's never happening again >.>;. *will be super careful to get done with tutoring/work on time from now on*
