movie: 15

I just finished watching a movie I randomly plucked off the foreign movie rental shelf at Hastings... and that was the best $1.50 I've spent in awhile XD. It was called 15, and I'm now disturbed, but happier for having watched it. It was very... how did the movie cover word it... *checks*... Ah, "ultra-kinetic" XD. It's about adolescent boys in modern-day Singapore, and how the whole movie was shot and put together was brilliant. I laughed, cried, and could barely look through my fingers at the screen at times XD. It wasn't a cute shounen ai/yaoi'ish movie that I usually try to pick out, but the friendship between the characters was so amazing and electric at times, like they could be friends their entire lives, if they could just survive their lifestyle.

*sticks 15 on her fav movie list, which is turning out to be a stupidly long list by now* I would say everyone should watch it, but really, only people who are a bit jaded should watch it XD. Or whoever can stomach such dismal despair sprinkled with humor to ease the somberness a bit.

I shall have to test my 1337 random-movie-plucking skillz another time, because this was really good ^^.

There's suicide of random people in it... in fact, there's this whole 20 minute sequence, where one of the guys wants to jump off a building, and his friends are like "No problem! That's what friends are for-- we'll find you the perfect place." That gave me a few chills. Very twisted. But then again, when they were rejecting all the buildings, it was funny too. I was really shocked at how the movie maker had accomplished making such sad things funny at times.

You'd like the shounen ai sexual confusion stuff... they were all so dependent on eachother. There's this one scene where one boy exhaled his cigarette smoke, and they other one sucked it in while they were laying on a bed together... I think I held my breath for a second.

I dunno-- I'm so torn about this movie. It was so depressing, but hilarious and great at the same time XD. I don't understand it.

HOW DID YOUR SPEECH GO-- DID YOU FINALLY GIVE IT O.O???

Ummmmmmmmm......... right. XDDDDDDDDD It sounds horrific and stuff but at the same time funny. Wth. XD And while I'm all fdklsjf;ldskj about second-hand smoke (*gets enough on campus and has to hold her breath* x_x), I'm all for boys lying in bed together. >.>;

I DID FINALLY GIVE IT AND IT WENT BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. We'd vote each day speeches are given to see who gave the overall speech. I won that day and got a big FIVE extra credit points. XD Better than nothing I suppose.

I ripped the DVD onto my computer, so if you want to watch it sometime, just tell me and I'll send it to you ^^. I hate second hand smoke too... but man, if you saw that scene, you wouldn't be able to hate it XD. Very sekushi.
