We were doing a lesson on "giving advice for problems" (Millenium A... lesson 10, I think?). I told them that my brother was "selfish" and a "jerk" (which I had to write on the board), because when it's my birthday, he forgets to buy a present, but when it's his birthday, he says "Where's my present?" (TRUE FACTZ, YO)!

Anyway, one of my students suggested I buy him a "fula," which I didn't understand. But then she made hopping motions on the desk with her hand, and I said "OH, a FROG!" So yes, their advice to me was to put a frog in a box and give it to my brother on his next birthday XD;;;.

I dunno... sometimes my Sprint 8 classes look like that on the board XD. It depends if there's a dialogue or not. But yeah, it's a strange skill being able to identify a lesson-type from someone's whiteboard XD. I'll try posting another picture sometime, and you can try to guess the exact class! That would be awesome XD.

Yeah, I know what you mean... but then again, they're studying to be fluent, so perhaps it helps them to know what a native speaker can and can't understand from them. Just do what I do, and turn it into a game of pictionary, if you can't understand the student. Hand them the marker XD;. Drawing is the easiest way to bridge a miscommunication, sometimes.

lol~! guess the class from the whiteboard~ XDDD that'll be fun~

lol! yes, i often do the pictionary thing. and the great thing about some of the lessons i've taught lately is that they've involved charades (which my students were nervous about the first time, but now seem to adore XD), so the students from those classes are getting used to using gestures to help them out too.

I'll just have to come teach at your university, then XD. I can tailor the lessons directly for you! "Boy smut" and the like, of course <3.

From your icon, maybe you don't need any such classes XD? Or would it be for fun-- like taking an art class?

well, I might watch jpr0n but I don't have knowledgde about the company's intentions ^_~ But it would be for fun too, of course XD After all..one has to watch samples to get an impression on the subject at hand. *nodsnods*

Why "antidisestablishmentarianism"? XD
Nov. 14th, 2008 02:14 pm (UTC)
They asked me what a long English word was, so I wrote antidisestablishmentarianism XD;. It's probably the most famous super-long word in English, even though there are a few that are longer than it. They kept on going "Uwah, u~wah!" because they thought I would never stop writing more letters XD;.
