#24 - Blush for 30_cracks
Note: This was written on a whim, when I was pondering upon exclamation points while stuck in the coffee shop. They amuse me so, and should be used just about never in writing, so I thought it could use some love. So this one's devoted to the exclamation point! *snuggles the exclamatory mark!* !!!!!!! ...!!!one!!!1cat!!11

In Kaidoh’s life, most everything ended in a period. He wasn’t one who got overly worked up, so exclamation points weren’t a necessity (except when talking with Momoshiro, where most of his encounters with the other could be summed up with ‘That baka!’ or Arrghhh!’). He was confident enough in his daily activities that ellipsis hadn’t been required in years. And don’t even get started on question marks. Kaidoh Kaoru did not need help.

Kaidoh had managed to keep his cool throughout most of the utter insanity that had been thrown at him since he’d started attending Seishun Gakuen-- haunted classrooms, rigged bowling tournaments, and bouts of amnesia-- just to name a few, but this was the most unlikely situation he’d been in yet. But even though he was a period-purist, nothing could help Kaidoh from the punctual sin he was about to fall into. Silence inducing-questioning-startlement described it quite well.

“I like you Kaidoh,” Inui said, from where he was currently pinning Kaidoh to a row of lockers in an empty clubroom.

“...?!” Kaidoh said, from where Inui currently had him pinned to a row of lockers in an empty clubroom.

Maybe with help from his senpai, Kaidoh would be able to learn that there are other acceptable forms of punctuation. Inui gave him his first lesson, as he punctuated his declaration with a kiss.

Kaidoh chose that moment to abandon the sacred period for a blush instead.

And just so no one thinks I'm making up words, ellipsis are those three little dots (...) people put when they trail off or take a word out of a quote. I do indeed make up words, but I didn't make that one up, promise ^^;.

You mentioned ellipsis. You are my new hero, M-sama. *worships*

You might think that, being an English major and all, I love anything to do with punctuation. And you would be right ^^ I loved this fic for its amazing cuteness, and for its grammar references. Long live the exclamation point!!

Even though I probably use the ellipsis in general life more than any other punctuation mark, as I have a tendency to get distracted and trail off all the time, it is not my favorite. Question marks are teh coolest, and I hope the confusion never ends ^_^.

I think all English majors have a punctuation fetish to some degree. YOU CAN'T HIDE IT, mwhahaha ^_^.

I love abusing the ellipsis so much. *does that all the time with Kaidoh-talk* XDDD

Omg, this fic is pure genius. No question marks for Kaidoh, nope. XD *pets him for being so adorable*

Best part: Inui pinning Kaidoh against the lockers. *dies*

*loves all over M semi-appropriately* X333

I think it's impossible to write Kaidoh!speech without abusing ellipsis ^^. A proper "fshuuu" cannot be written without an ellipsis on the end, and don't forget all those dramatic pausing before he threatens to eviserate someone ^___^. *pets Kaidoh*

He only questions when he thinks his senpai has called him, wanting a date. Hee hee ^_____^. *fangirls over the thought of that episode*

I liked that part too, and Inui demanded it while I was writing. I can't deny him, he's too cute, and plus he threatened me with his new hyper deluxe special super duper indigo Inui Juice >.>;.

I abuse ellipsis way too much. XD For both Inui and Kaidoh... and well for myself as well! *hee*

Well that is true. That was absolutely teh squeebly. X333 "Date-o!?"

Ooh indigo. *wants to try* XD [/dork]

I heard somewhere that ending one's sentances in ellipsis in japan is considered uber-feminine and elegant. That could be totally wrong, but it's kinda interesting to think about. (<-- always hears her Kaidoh Muse ending in them too)

If you're an English nerd for liking it, I'm the ultimate English nerd for writing it ^^;. I'm prepared to accept that fact though, as it is more than likely true.
