the end is in sight!

Today after classes, I met with my advisor. She always says it won't take very long, but then we always end up, like today, chatting in her office for an hour and a half ^^;.

The first half hour was devoted to figuring out how much longer it should be until I graduate... approximately 2 years if I take about 12 hours a semester, but hah, there's no way I'd do that XD;. So hopefully it'll only be a year and a half maybe, if I keep on tackling 16 or more hours a semester? It's comforting to have a goal in sight, though ^_^. I do enjoy learning and such, but I don't want it to go on forever and ever either. *marches on toward the future*

After that was figured out, my advisor interviewed me for a paper she's writing for a conference in New York. It's about conservative/religious students in college, and she interviewed me as a used-to-be religious conservative turned agnostic not-really religious type person. I just basically talked about my childhood being raised in a Southern Baptist church, and how I lost sleep for many years over the idea of rapture ^^;. Talking about that was a bit mortifying, but I was glad that someone I looked up to listened, and didn't accuse me of being a hellion for my current stance on things XD;. I don't think I could get that at home. After we talked about that, she told me my paper on the rapture, and my obvious anger/uncomfort toward the subject, that I wrote during my second semester of college is what vaguely inspired her to write this paper XD;. I need to read that again paper again-- I remember it was pretty awful ^^;. That was an interesting experience today, though... Someone actually wanted to hear my opinion for something semi-important, which was nice ^^. My coherence isn't always there, but I managed to not make a total jackass of myself ^^;.

CSI is on, so I'll go be shocked whilst watching it. That show's so scary and gross sometimes, but I'm pretty awesome at closing my eyes really quick when I hear squishy noises XD;. I DON'T WANT TO SEE A BULLET TRAVEL THROUGH SOMEONE'S BRAIN! or whatever. But it's still interesting to watch ^^.

That I know. Though UCs (Universities of California) are more... reputable than just regular CSUs (California State Universities) here. I don't know why. XD;; Well I do. But still. *confuzzled*
